QUALIFICATIONS:
|
- Two years of college or technical school OR Three to five years of secretarial experience OR an equivalent combination of training/experience with data entry
- Working knowledge of personal computers and applications related to spreadsheets, word processing, and database management
- Human Resources experience in a school environment is preferred

SUMMARY:
|
Specialists provide skilled administrative support to the District’s Human Resources (HR) programs and are responsible for confidential and highly complex duties. The scope of responsibility is significant and the job function has considerable impact within and outside of the department. HR Specialists ensure compliance with a wide variety of personnel policies and procedures, laws, board policies, and administrative practices; and participate in the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of processes, procedures and systems. This position requires use of sound judgment in dealing with staff and the ability to initiate and manage projects independently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
|
- Responsible for aspects of new hire processing, including posting vacancies and hiring requests
- Interprets and assists employees with district policies, regulations and requirements
- Communicates with employees, departments, administrators, applicants and the public for the purpose of providing information and assistance concerning employment.
- Demonstrates an understanding of budget codes and maintains Allotment Sheets for all schools
- Maintains a variety of employment files and records, compiling pertinent employee information for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of employee’s compensation.
- Assists with new employee processing/orientation for the purpose of providing pertinent information regarding employment with the district
- Assists in the collection, preparation and review of data for reports, proposals and other formal written communications; ensures that all reports and correspondence achieve a high level of quality.
- Performs other duties as assigned related to the efficient operation of the Human Resources Department.
