School Nutrition- Roving Field Manager Trainer (RFMT)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires at least three years of successful experience in school food service management. Requires ServSafe Certification Bachelor’s degree in food science, nutrition preferred

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Pay Grade 61 10 month Position, Regular State Benefits

 

NATURE OF WORK:

The School Nutrition (SN) Roving Field Manager Trainer (RFMT) works under the supervision of the School Nutrition Supervisor..The RFMT trains and provides assistance to the School Nutrition Cafeteria Managers. The RFMT shall possess exceptional leadership skills and have the ability to deliver hands-on training and monitoring. Knowledge of School Nutrition policies and procedures is necessary. This position always projects a positive image for the School Nutrition Program by informing the community. The RFMT is responsible for communicating all regulations and policies to the managers and SN staff. This position conducts reviews and visits assigned schools daily. Also responsible for reviewing recipes, production records, and other administrative duties as assigned. The RFMT will assist in manager absences and work in the nutrition office when necessary.

 

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:

  • Works with the SN Staff to develop and implement all aspects of the operation.
  • Oversees the daily activities of cafeteria managers and staff per Nutrition Supervisor and Director.
  • Develops and implements training for SN Staff. Follows directives from the Nutrition Supervisor/Director to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations by reviewing each assigned site with approved onsite review tools.
  • Conducts evaluation of assigned staff. Other duties that may be assigned by the Director of SN.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Individual must possess:

  • An ability to supervise others, give guidelines and requirements and evaluate them.
  • An ability to utilize oral and written communication effectively with all individuals, co-workers, and staff.
  • An ability to interpret regulations and teach.
  • A clear understanding of computers and program use.
  • A thorough knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a cafeteria.
