MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN III (General)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

12 Month Position, Pay Grade 65, Regular State Benefits

NATURE OF WORK:

An employee in this class has a working knowledge and skills relating to plumbing and water systems. 

Working knowledge of tools and materials used in repairing and construction fields.

Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools and heavy equipment.

Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, or sketches.

Ability to make accurate math calculations.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to assume responsibility of a lead worker in the performance of repairs and installations.

Required to come to work on time on a regular basis and be in acceptable work uniform.

Ability to work with others in stressful and emergency situations.

Required to be on call once a month and whenever there is a major emergency.

Required to be able to follow state, federal, and local school zone laws dealing with weapons, drugs, and tobacco products.

Experience:

Must have a working knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the plumbing and water systems trade.

Skill in the use and care of equipment and tools used in the plumbing and water systems trade.

Ability to follow oral or written instructions.

Training and Experience:

Considerable experience in plumbing and water systems.

Experience in maintenance and repair.
